McLean Mill is a National Historic Site which receives significant volunteer support from the Western Vancouver Island Industrial Heritage Society, a longstanding member of the Alberni Valley Gaming Association.

The Alberni Valley Gaming Association (AVGA) is a not-for-profit organization based in Port Alberni, BC.  The Association owns and is responsible for the operation of the Chances RimRock Gaming Centre and has contracted the management of this 25,000 square foot facility and the gaming operations to The Coulson Group of Companies.

The AVGA is governed by an elected Board of Directors. To become a member, any charitable and/or religious organization can apply in writing to the Board of Directors. You do not have to receive gaming grants to be eligible for membership. The annual fee is $5.00. We encourage all not-for-profit organizations to join. Together, we enrich our communities and are positioned to have a collective voice in using our resources.

Member Benefits

The AVGA provides many of the same services as Community Charitable Gaming Associations (CCGA) in other parts of B.C.

Through our Website and our Electronic Communication Network, we provide members with:

  • current news from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch
  • timely reminders of application and reporting deadlines,
  • when possible, assistance with the application process and with gaming grant and licensing issues that arise in the community

Create Awareness, Find Information, Establish Connections

This website also offers an opportunity for members to showcase the work of their organizations and provide links so that information can be shared and connections can be made.  Please visit our Member Organizations pages.
