It’s Chance RimRock 10th Anniversary!
In September 2017, Chances RimRock Gaming Centre celebrated its 10th Anniversary!
When Dob City closed its doors in 2007, the familiar game of Bingo relocated to a modern venue with electronic games of chance and enhanced food and beverage facilities. Former staff and local charities made the move, too!
Staff, Patrons, Charities and the Community enjoyed a variety of special events at Chances RimRock from September 18 – 21, including hot seat draws and RimRock Derby Horse races on the Slot Floor, special KaPlinko games, gift basket draws and guaranteed minimum payouts at Loon Lake Bingo and a $5.00 seat sale and dinner at the evening Bingo session on September 21.
Celebrating 10 years was also an opportunity to let the community know that the Alberni Valley Gaming Association owns and is responsible for the operation of Chances RimRock Gaming Centre. The AVGA contracts the management of this 25,000 square foot facility and the gaming operations to the Coulson Group of Companies.
Members of the AVGA represent not-for-profit organizations that enhance public safety, provide stewardship for the beautiful environment we live in and enrich our communities with programs focused on human and social services, sport, arts and culture.
The City of Port Alberni has received almost $4 million dollars over the past 10 years for being the host community of the Gaming Centre. The city uses this money to fund a variety of community programs including the Community Investment Program, McLean Mill, and Promotion of Tourism and Economic Development.
Chances RimRock employs 55 full- and part-time employees. We are grateful to our staff for their contributions to the vibrancy of our community.
